Vision: 40 Days of Prayer Leswidden Retreat renovations have now reached a basic form of dry habitation, including running water, toilets and shower (due to be completed before Christmas). It provides a great space for prayer and reflection as well as get-aways and rest times. SJI plans to host 40 days of prayer from 21 June to 31 July 2009 during which we envisage many different groups, churches, families and individuals using the farmhouse and its surroundings for as long or as short as they wish. Groups could overlap with careful negotiation and may find the prayer flowing better with a small crossover. Some of these weeks will be co-ordinated directly by SJI, some by other groups. The vision for the 40 days of prayer is not necessarily for 24 hour prayer, but as much ongoing petition as fits a groups or individuals plans. This might mean prayers during meal times or 24/7 prayer, but with as much variety as you can dream of, ranging from Celtic liturgy to prayer walking, planned alongside other activities of refreshment and fun. We also plan to tie in some missional activity over the St Just Lafrowda festival week, Monday 13th Saturday 18th July.
